Film making

In Te Maunga we’ve been learning about how to make a movie and I made a movie about Bananas VS Monkeys. I learned that High Angles show the character is weak and the Low Angle shows the character is strong. My favourite thing was making our props for the monkeys and writing down our script and storyboard. I tried really hard to tell my group what was happening and what lines they had to say.

Myth & Legends

In Te Maunga we’ve been doing a T-shaped Literacy about Myths & Legends. We learned about different heroes from different places. My favourite part was making a Google Drawing for a hero in the text and I did the old man from a book called ‘Nian.' I learned that the leader of the Greek gods is called Zeus.

Wacky Wednesday

In Paihia School last Wednesday we had a fun wacky Wednesday. On wacky Wednesday we could dress up wacky and stupid. One thing that I like to do was to see what everyone dressed up like and what happened to the class. I learned how to dress up stupid. I try hard to make my t-shirt stupid as I can.

Pal day 2

In Paihia School we did some Pal activities again. I learned how to keep still when there is a red light when we are playing green light and red light and I also learned that when you are playing octopus the octopus have to choose a color and if you have that color in yourself you have to run across another side. One thing I like to do too is passing the ball to my teammate when we are playing rugby and soccer. I'll run faster to improve my PE.

Earthquake & Volcanoes

In Te Maunga we’ve been doing a T-Shaped Literacy about Earthquakes and Volcanoes. I learned that Volcanoes erupt because when tectonic plates bump into each other, the reason that Earthquakes happen is because a tectonic plate scrapes, bumps, or drags to other tectonic plates. My favourite part of learning was Writing down 10 questions to answer for an interview about you as a reporter of a Volcano eruption or an Earthquake. I try hard to get my Google Drawing more details and more colour.

Shake out day

In Te Maunga we did a practise about how to save yourself from the earthquake. I learned that if you live beside the sea you have to be careful that an earthquake might cause a tsunami because suddenly the rock will move and that will cause the overlying water to move. The resulting waves move away from the source. When there is an earthquake alert you should hide under a table (that would fit you) and hold the edges to keep you under the table, or you can run to the frame of a door. I was trying very hard to hold the edge when we were practising.

Olympic

In Te Maunga we’ve been learning about the Olympics. I learned that the Modern Olympics started on April 6, 1896. One thing I enjoyed in my reading was doing some research about 3 Olympians. I chose Blair Tuke, Myrin Abbott and Ma Lin. The reason I chose them is because the sport they play is my favourite sport and they are my favourite players. I was trying hard to get all the research right.
